The Bulk Drug Manufacturers Association of India (BDMAI) is planning to launch an exclusive e-marketing portal for the Indian active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), intermediates, pellets and pharma services to offer their products and services to the national and international markets.
The plans are to enable all the bulk drug manufacturers in the country, particularly the small and medium scale units, to showcase their products and reach out to the customers in order to expand their market using the potential of digitalisation.
This will be through an online marketing app exclusively intended to promote APIs, intermediates, pallets and pharma services like contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), consultancy, reference standards, etc.
R K Agarwal, national president of BDMAI in a latest newsletter of the association, said, "The initiative aims to empower Indian bulk drug manufacturers by providing a dedicated platform to showcase their products and services to domestic and international buyers, facilitating easier sourcing and broader market access".
The Association is looking at promoting the platform internationally with the support of various departments of the Central government, so that more manufacturers can access the global market, enhancing India's bulk drug exports.
BDMAI is in advanced stage of readying the application for the market, and it is expected to be launched in a couple of months.
The application is exclusively to promote Indian bulk drug products to the national and international buyers, said M Roja Rani, executive director of BDMAI. Bulk drug manufacturers and vendors who are not members of the Association can also show case their products in the platform.
This is a first of its kind initiative exclusively for the Indian bulk drug manufacturers and traders. The online platform will also be open for the manufacturers and suppliers of related products and services such as machineries and consultants. This will enable the bulk drug manufacturers to search and identify the vendors of these services through the platform.
