Exports of Ayush and herbal products have reported a decline of 6% during the month of July, compared to the same month of previous fiscal year. This is following a 11.8% decline registered in the month of June, on a Year-over-Year (YoY) basis.

Exports during the month of July, 2025, was at $59.3 million, as compared to $63.09 million in the same month of previous fiscal year. It may be noted that the growth in July, 2024, was around 11.5% from $56.56 million in July, 2023.

In Rupee terms, exports of Ayush and herbal products have reported a decline of 3% in July, this year, at Rs. 511.15 crore, as compared to Rs. 527.46 crore registered in July, 2024. Exports during July, 2024 was a growth of 13.5% compared to Rs. 464.72 crore in July, 2023, according to data from the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCI&S).

In terms of quantity, July, 2025 reported a decline of around 11% in exports at 10,188 MT as compared to 11,446 MT during the same month of 2024. Exports during July, 2024 was almost 22.3% higher than the 9,357 MT exports reported in July, 2023.

Cumulative exports during the first four months of the fiscal year have registered a decline of 1.2% at $235.08 million as compared to $237.89 million registered in the same month a year ago. Cumulative growth from April to July, 2024 was 11.8% as compared to $212.79 million in July, 2023.

In Rupee terms, the cumulative growth for the first four months of the current fiscal year witnessed a growth of 1.44% at Rs. 2,014.34 crore, as compared to Rs. 1,985.7 crore in the corresponding period of previous year.

In terms of quantity, the growth was marginal at 0.29% at 42,862 MT from April to July, 2025, as compared to 42,738 MT during the same period last year.

As reported earlier, the exports during the first quarter of the current fiscal, ended June 30, 2025 reported a marginal growth of 06% and stood at $175.7 million, as against $174.8 million during the three months from April to June, 2024.

In Rupee terms, the growth was 3.1% at Rs. 1,503.2 crore from April to June, 2025, as against Rs. 1,458.3 crore during the same period a year ago.

Growth in terms of quantity was around 5.8% at 33,104 MT from 31,295 MT reported during the quarter ended June, 2024.

Ayush and herbal products exports reported a growth of 3.6 per cent during the fiscal year 2023-24, at $651.17 million as compared to the same period of previous year. During 2022-23, the exports were $628.54 million. The year 2022-23 registered a growth of 2.68 per cent in exports, from $612.12 million in the previous year.

The Ministry of Ayush has established Ayush Export Promotion Council (Ayushexcil) to promote Ayush products and services globally by the Ministry of Ayush and supported by the Union ministry of commerce. It was officially launched at Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on April 20, 2022, and aimed to oversee exports of products of Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Siddha, Sowa/Rigpa and Unani systems and address trade issues pertaining to these sectors.
