Ayush and herbal products exports grew 15.6% in April

Exports of Ayush and herbal products reported a growth of 15.61% per cent during the first month of the current fiscal year, as compared to almost 19% growth reported in the same month a year ago.
Exports during the month of April, 2025, was at $59.47 million, as compared to $51.44 million in the same month of previous fiscal year. The growth in April, 2024, around 19% from $43.26 million in April, 2023, according to data from the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCI&S).
In Rupee terms, exports of Ayush and herbal products have reported 18.6% growth in April, this year, at Rs 508.83 crore, as compared to Rs 429 crore registered in the same month, last year. April, 2024, witnessed a growth of 21% compared to Rs. 354.84 crore reported in April, 2023.
In terms of quantity, the exports of Ayush and herbal products registered 13.1% growth in April, 2025. The total exports during the month of April, 2025 was 10,767.7 metric tonne as compared to 9,519.28 metric tonne during the same period of previous fiscal year.
As reported earlier, the exports of Ayush and herbal products from India during the fiscal year 2024-25 grew 5.86%, with the quantity growing almost 21.46% as compared to the previous fiscal year.
The exports during the fiscal year 2024-25 stood at $689.34 million, as compared to $651.17 million reported in the previous fiscal year.
The quantity during FY25 grew to 1,28,738 MT, as against 1,05,984 MT exported in the previous fiscal year.
In Rupee terms, the growth was around 8% to Rs. 5,831.4 crore during the fiscal year, as against Rs. 5,391.42 crore during the previous fiscal year.
Exports reported a growth of 3.6 per cent during the fiscal year 2023-24, at $651.17 million as compared to the same period of previous year. During 2022-23, the exports was $628.54 million. The year 2022-23 registered a growth of 2.68 per cent in exports, from $612.12 million in the previous year.
The Ministry of Ayush has established Ayush Export Promotion Council (Ayushexcil) to promote Ayush products and services globally by the Ministry of Ayush and supported by the Union ministry of commerce. It was officially launched at Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on April 20, 2022, and aimed to oversee exports of products of Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Siddha, Sowa/Rigpa and Unani systems and address trade issues pertaining to these sectors.
