The Union health ministry has issued the list of drug manufacturers
whose more than five samples have been failed in the National Drug
Survey conducted by National Institute of Biologicals (NIB) across the
country to check the proportion of drug samples failing in quality
testing. There are a total of 66 companies in the list, some of them
prominent companies, whose 946 drugs have been found to be not of
standard quality (NSQ) drugs in the Survey.
The health ministry
had conducted the survey last year and the result was declared in
February this year. Compiled in 400 pages of well documented
evidence-based study, the survey which tested 47,012 samples revealed
that 13 samples (0.0245%) were spurious and 1,850 samples (3.16%) were
NSQ. A copy of full report of the Survey has already been uploaded on
CDSCO website for public information. In general review meeting of the
Ministry on 06.07.2017, it was decided that the list of drug

CDSCO website separately.
