Fermenta Biotech Limited is confident that it will be able to achieve around 15% CAGR growth on revenues with around 25% EBDITA margins over the next 5 years.

The company aims to enhance nutrition affordability and strengthen its recall as a B2B solution provider through manufacturing nutritional ingredients, trading/distribution agreements or sourcing from external parties to convert to a value added format through stabilization technology.

The company also intends to add on new products to portfolio of nutritional ingredients.

Prashant Nagre, managing director, Fermenta Biotech Limited said, "With respect to expanding our global footprint, we have recently set up two wholly-owned international subsidiaries Fermenta Biotech GmbH, in Germany and Fermenta Biotech USA LLC in the US. Fermenta Biotech USA LLC has acquired a majority stake in a US-based vitamin company AGD Nutrition LLC, headquartered in Nacogdoches in Texas. This deal is expected to combine the expertise of both the companies and result in synergies that will bring in greater operational capabilities to enhance Fermenta’s footprint in the US market, which is one of the largest markets for human and animal nutrition. Subsequently, AGD Nutrition LLC has been renamed as Fermenta USA LLC. This reflects the brand value of Fermenta and we expect to capitalize on Fermenta’s recognition as a nutritional ingredients’ supplier in the US market.”

Fermenta Biotech GmbH is collaborating with a European contract manufacturer for producing a spray-dried format of vitamin D3 feed grade.

Dahej land has been optimally utilised now and there is no scope for further expansion there. The next phase of expansions shall be in Sayakha which is around 20 kms from Dahej plant. We have received environment clearance for the greenfield project at Sayakha, the company said.

Nagre added, "The role of vitamin D in maintaining health and immunity has been further underlined during the pandemic. Therefore, it has received renewed interest from governments and scientists, as various recent publications have focused on vitamin D’s importance for prevention and management of infections.”
