The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), the new Chinese agency for regulating drugs and medical devices (formerly the China Food and Drug Administration or CFDA), will organise a training programme on "Regulatory Procedures for APIs and Formulations in China on 21st June 2019 at Shanghai in China.
The training programme is a significant step by the Chinese drugs and medical devices regulating agency as recently there were many changes in the regulatory systems of China, primarily transforming from CFDA to NMPA. Senior Officials from NMPA, CDSCO, Embassy of India and Commerce Ministry will be attending the programme.
As China is an important market for Indian pharma, the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) has asked its member companies to utilise this unique opportunity by registering their participation at dgdesk@pharmexcil.com. Pharmexcil will provide required assistance to the confirmed delegates in arranging Visa invitation. This training programme will be a full day programme and there will be no Registration Fee for member companies of Pharmexcil.
Earlier, the Pharmexcil and the Union Commerce Ministry had taken up major issues with NMPA through the Indian Mission in China for organizing a training programme for the benefit of the Indian pharmaceutical companies. Pursuant to the efforts of Embassy of India, Commerce Ministry and Pharmexcil, the NMPA agreed to provide the Training on "Regulatory Procedures for API and Formulations & recent changes".
The training programme is scheduled for 21st June 2019, a day after CPhI China, as the majority of pharmaceuticals companies will be present in Shanghai, China. The Pharmexcil is organizing an India Pavilion in CPhI China 2019 at Shanghai New Int'l Expo Centre (SNIEC), Shanghai, China during 18-20th June 2019. CPhI China is an event focused on APIs, excipients, plant extracts, contract manufacturing, etc. The Council is participating 9th time in this event. About 3,200 exhibitors and 70,000 visitors of pharma professionals from 120 countries are expected to participate in the event. Considering the importance of the event, Council is organizing an India Pavilion in 168 sq. meters of space in Hall E 1 D32.
