The National Accreditation Body for Cold Chain Management (NAB-CCM) is the first-of-its-kind ecosystem dedicated to advancing cold chain management. It is a collaborative initiative driven by partnerships between academia, industry and government, focused on providing education, training, awareness, certification, incubation and accreditation within the cold chain community.
NAB-CCM is committed to ensuring that businesses and its workforce involved in manufacturing, storage, transportation and handling of temperature-sensitive goods are well-trained and audited for best practices. This helps maintain the quality, efficacy and integrity of goods such as food, medicines and vaccines, ensuring consumer safety and regulatory compliance.
In order to strengthen cold chain systems across Africa, the Foresight Institute of Research and Translation (FIRAT), Rwanda and the NAB-CCM, India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Under this strategic five-year partnership, FIRAT will serve as NAB-CCM’s exclusive implementation partner on the continent. This will help in leading efforts to enhance infrastructure, professional training, facility accreditation, industry outreach and research initiatives in public health.
